Job Purpose and Function

The Senior Data Architect leads a team of one direct report and multiple third-party providers and professional services team to develop strategies in the design, development, maintenance, and roadmap development to drive efficient and high-quality integrations connecting data, applications and third parties that support business processes and customer needs. The Senior Data Architect and team will monitor and analyze the existing integrations and future needs to gain greater visibility to information in supporting business decisions and within IT, to improve performance, efficiency and adoption to enterprise capabilities.

How You’ll Make an Impact (Key Accountabilities)
• Analyze business and customer requirements to identify and prioritize opportunities to improve efficiencies and processes through integration and data accessibility leveraging enterprise tools, when possible.
• Design and implement integration flows and enhancements, including APIs and/or file-based integrations, leveraging automation and alerting.
• Partner with development and design teams to support and provide oversight in designing and developing integration solutions, prototypes and operationalizing our integrations and tools to support analytics.
• Determine, conduct, and automate integration tests, load tests, and performance tests, including facilitating set-up of test data and accounts.
• Prepare and manage technical documentation and establish onboarding/training for technical staff to increase the understanding and awareness of our tools and capabilities.
• Proactively monitor integration performance and troubleshoot, resolve, and report integration issues to impacted teams and stakeholders.
• Establish standards in development and integration processes, best practices, and standards.
• Partner with Sr Solutions / Solutions Analysts to gain user and stakeholder feedback to guide/influence and create the development of new products and integration enhancements.
• Lead the evaluation and recommendation for integration vendor and tool selection to meet business needs and support development team workflows.
• Promote a collaborative team environment and work closely with IT partners and stakeholders to achieve goals.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to integration and data engineers.
• Provide direction and leadership for a team(s) of integration and data engineers.

What We’re Looking For (Required Qualifications and Experience)
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, project management, or general business management (or a related field). Alternatively, equivalent progressive IT experience.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in software development
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in integration engineering
• Ability to visit headquarters site quarterly for team-building, training, and development opportunities
An ideal candidate will also have:
• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments
• Strong understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing and emerging technologies to new and evolving technologies.
• Experience developing technical documentation – architecture, strategies, and roadmaps.
• Understanding of IT standards and controls.
• Excellent understanding of application development methodologies and infrastructure and network architecture.
• Strong knowledge of integration design and development processes (e.g., development, testing, debugging).
• Demonstrable experience in data integration and workflow scripting.
• Proficiency with data modeling, manipulation, and distribution between applications.
• Strong proficiency in relevant coding languages (e.g., SQL, C#, Python).
• Experience with system integration technologies (e.g., RESTful APIs, OAUTH 2.0, event brokers, data virtualization).
• Expert-level skill with Microsoft Power Platform tools including Power BI and Power Automate.
• Expert-level skill with relational databases and T-SQL.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to be used in communicating with non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Azure data management services (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse)
• Ability to work in a team-based setting and alone.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
• Adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and frameworks.
• Experience influencing, guiding and facilitating stakeholders and peers with decision making.
