The Tech Career Guru Position Summary
The Sr. Systems Administrator will be responsible for the documentation, setup, support and maintenance of the AWS and on-premises infrastructures. This includes, but is not limited to, installing new software releases, system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches and resolving software and hardware related problems. This position will assist with system configuration and backups and recovery for existing and newly acquired infrastructure.
This position occasionally requires the applicant to travel to company sites.
Role and Responsibilities
• Network documentation, maintenance, support
• Server documentation, installation, support, maintenance
• AWS environment setup, support, maintenance
• VMware vSphere/ESXi setup, support, maintenance
• SQL server maintenance and support
• Active Directory documentation and maintenance
• Firewall maintenance and support
• SAN maintenance and support
• Testing and maintenance of disaster recovery plan
• Backup documentation and maintenance
• Support internal and Sarbanes-Oxley audit processes
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to work independently
• Strong working knowledge of Linux and common open source utilities
• Strong working knowledge of Windows Server installation, patching and maintenance
• Working knowledge of SQL server – MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
The following skills are not required but are highly desired for this role:
• Experience with Cicso/Aruba switch configuration/maintenance
• Experience with Python, Bash, Powershell
• Experience with VMware VSphere and ESXi
• Experience with Veeam B&R
• Experience with Cisco Firewalls
• Experience with Office 365 administration
• Experience with Containers (Docker,ECS/Fargate)
This position will require occaiosnal travel to company branches.
Required Skills
• 3+ years working with AWS (Amazon Web Services)
• 3+ years of experience with Systems administration of cloud and on-premise environments
• Ability to work independently
• Strong working knowledge of Linux and common open source utilities
• Strong working knowledge of Windows Server installation, patching and maintenance
• Working knowledge of SQL server – MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
