Our New Senior DevOps Engineer Will Work On
• Infrastructure – You will:
• Create infrastructure automation scripts using Terraform to build new serverless PaaS based AWS environments and modify existing environments that are highly scalable, available, and secure.
• Contribute to an overall blueprint library of patterns and IaC capability which enhances the team’s ability to deploy consistent, secure, and well governed technology components.
• Review and harden new and existing AWS services to comply with security and governance requirements.
• CI/CD – You will:
• Design and implement automated build processes for software projects, striving to make the compilation, testing, and packaging process as automatic and resilient as possible.
• Orchestrate build and deploy capability and pipelines using a combination of DevOps tools including CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, Terraform, scripting, and ansible.
• Integrate automated testing and security scanning.
• Operationalize – You will:
• Establish operational documentation, and training material leading to a successful transition of technology and solutions to our operations team members.
• Development Enablement – You will:
• Work with development teams and team members to understand requirements, and development workflows. Recommend and implement tools and solutions to accelerate the development team’s ability to consume and use infrastructure and services in a serverless environment.

Our Senior DevOps Engineer, Will Have
• The education. You have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math.
• The experience. You have hands-on exposure to supporting cloud applications. You are up-to-date on current DevOps standards and best practices. You have experience:
• Automating builds, gated builds, and packaging for deployment.
• Maintaining a production build system for a large software project.
• The expertise. You have the expertise to suggest and\or develop better or alternative ways to implement our existing builds, reduce build times, and implement CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of managing or automating management of databases is preferred.
• The toolbox. You have hands-on experience with the following technology areas:
• In-depth knowledge of AWS IaaS/PaaS services (e.g. Lambda, RDS, SQS, Redshift). Experience with Azure a plus
• Deep experience with IaC concepts and tools. Terraform background highly desired.
• Ability to script in Python and\or Powershell.
• Strong experience developing pipelines with AWS CodePipeline or Jenkins. Knowledge of Azure DevOps Pipelines a plus.
• Experience with Docker images. ECS\EKS experience desired.
• Experience with Ansible desired

Primary Responsibilities:
• You will be responsible for transformative changes to our DevOps as a Service platform and drive technical strategy
• You will evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing technologies and tools, influence other Principals, Directors, and their technical teams to build the right systems that can scale to the needs of the business
• Work directly with other engineering teams to design, develop and deliver strategically significant self-service DevOps products that changes how we engineer solutions that enable other engineering teams to focus on their core work
• These include CI/CD pipelines, reusable cloud infrastructure as code architectures, shared libraries, and other tooling
• Build exemplary architecture solutions in terms of efficiency, stability, extensibility, and the ability to evolve over time
• Able to decompose significantly complex engineering problems into straightforward solutions
• Can take the lead on projects that may require the work across several teams to implement

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of developing and deploying cloud native applications for at least a significant portion of that time
• 5+ years developing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures in a repeatable automated way preferably on Azure
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines to maximize velocity
• Solid knowledge and hands-on experience using Docker and Kubernetes
• Solid programming skills in one or more of the following languages: Bash, Python, Java, C#, Typescript

Edgewater is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support a major national laboratory. You will perform configuration management, testing of complex software engineering infrastructure. You will employ systems-level thinking to plan, develop, and execute the implementation of solutions in the areas of cloud computing, security architecture, software architecture and network engineering. To achieve this, you will need two years of relevant experience and experience in problem identification, root cause analysis, and solving.

Primarily responsibilities will include research and development of a state-of-the-art Linux build, integration, and test environment that enables the development of sophisticated, real-time decision support systems that support remote sensing, data acquisition, and analysis applications.

Duties:
• Configuration management, testing and user support of complex software engineering infrastructures that are utilized by multiple code development teams
• Working collectively with architects, developers, technical leads, customers, tactical partners, and end users to collect requirements, design solutions, and deliver extensible software applications
• Providing to a deeply rewarding mission through engagement with diverse computer science specialists and specialists in areas like data fusion, signal and image processing, analytics, cloud computing, architectures, and data management and visualization
• Associate’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience, in lieu of an Associate’s degree an additional 3 years of relevant experience is required
• Experience as a Linux System Programmer or Linux Distribution Package Maintainer

• The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance and SCI-level clearance, which may require a polygraph test
