Optima Dev is looking for a Data Scientist in Fort Meade – Apply Here!
You’ll be working onsite in Fort Meade, MD. Given the nature of the work you’ll be looking at, you’ll need to show TS/SCI clearance, ideally, you’ll have FSP too, but it’s not essential.
Salary wise, I can see this role paying anywhere from $130,000-$175,000 DOE.
On top of salary, the packages include PTO (11 days, plus your birthday off), insurance cover (health, dental and vision), 401k/ESOP, life insurance, paid sabbaticals and a healthy training budget to enhance your learning.
They’ve implemented a companywide training culture, which has come from the top down. Every week, they all attend learning lunches, usually headed up by a specialist within their field, to share knowledge across the board.
Anyway, to the work.
As they’re a specialist data consultancy, you’ll spend most of your time creating and deploying predictive models, typically from a wide variety of data sources and types using mathematical and statistical methods.
You’ll work with stakeholders to understand the problems they’re trying to fix, exploring and wrangling data, writing re-usable code in R, Python, Java, Scala, SQL, etc. – this could mean preparing presentations, writing reports etc.
Any exposure to Machine Learning techniques, NLP, Text Mining and ETL would be an added bonus.
If the role looks of interest, feel free to reach out to Jack Leeming @ Optima Dev for a chat.
