Job Description

The Autonomy and Navigation Technology (ANT) Center, located at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) at Wright-Patterson AFB, is looking for a motivated and talented individual to serve as a Computer Vision Engineer to support solving interesting technical problems in the U.S. Air Force and the DoD. The successful candidate will have graduated from a major university or college with at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field, with a 3.0 GPA or higher. The applicants experience level will decide the level of the position and salary level; the position is flexible and can support entry-level to senior candidates. The candidate must be a self-sufficient and an independent professional.

Essential Job Responsibilities

The Computer Vision Engineer will be a key member of the research staff supporting ANT Center faculty and graduate students to support and drive the software and tooling of the Center’s cutting-edge research and development projects. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Design, develop, and test computer software in support of research requirements
• Work with faculty, students, and research engineers to develop new algorithms and tooling that support the various autonomy and advanced navigation research projects
• Integrate various technologies, such as commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and government off-the-shelf (GOTS) hardware and software, to support specific research needs
• Support CI/CD pipelines and repository maintenance to ensure availability of software tooling
• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results
• Ability to work in-person and remote
• US Citizen, with active Secret clearance or an ability to obtain one

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field, with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.

• Experience with programming languages such as Python and C++
