better and improve people’s livesEXPECTATIONS AND TASKSThe Revenue Recognition Senior Specialist is responsible for leading and supporting Revenue Recognition functions in North America This position requires a dynamic individual with the ability to partner with the sales organization and the North America Commercial Finance team members to ensure the Cloud, Software and Professional Services contracts are accounted for properly in accordance with IFRS The Revenue Recognition Center of Excellence member reports to the Head of Revenue Recognition in North America and is a member of the GCF Global Revenue Recognition Center of ExcellenceRESPONSIBILITIES:· Act as the single point of contact in complex revenue recognition matters and critical non-routine transactions, proactively proposing alternative, preferable or simpler transaction setup or deal structures in accordance with SAP’s Revenue Recognition Guideline and IFRS 15 policies· Partner with Market Unit Commercial Finance, Sales, Pricing, Field & Services Controlling and Legal to support complex deals· Lead and participate in key global programs and projects related to revenue recognition or deal support· Liaise with Corporate Financial Reporting and other global stakeholders to drive solutions to challenging revenue recognition topics· Engaged in SOX control and review activities during the month end closing· Perform controls and procedures related to the monthly close reviewing Cloud and Software contracts to ensure they are accounted for properly Follow best practices in the area of monthly close Understand changes in business and regulatory environments to ensure compliance· Keep current on the latest revenue recognition training content & programs and provide training and guidance on new policies· Professionally interact with external auditors during their quarterly reviews and the annual audit proceduresQUALIFICATIONS:· Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred· 5+ years of relevant work experience· Willingness to develop thorough knowledge of IFRS15 / US GAAP on revenue recognition and SAP’s policies and practices· CPA and/or Big 4 public accounting experience, highly preferred· Inquisitiveness and critical thinking skills· Problem solver with confidently affirmative attitude· Excellent communication skills· Ability to work under time pressure and deadlines, and juggle
