Scope And Tasks

Firewalls and Network Next-Gen Firewall, Routing and Defensive Security: design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting

• Participate in design meetings and reviews from a security and network perspective on assigned projects.
• Propose a networking security architecture to meet the business requirements and at the same time meet OTI’s Best practices guidelines
• Collaborate with OTI’s Architect teams for developing operable solutions for Citywide requirements
• Submit Build for installing new network or firewall devices
• Follow OTI process for new devices commissioning
• Configure ports, configure firewalls, and apply the base templates configurations, integrate the appliances into production network
• Develop and validate base configurations for operation use
• Create and review method-of-procedure for the change to be executed during the approved change window
• Open TAC cases as needed and identify root causes
• Review and implement network optimizations, network resilience and network failover testing as directed
• Develop plan and strategy for complex network upgrades
• Complete any additional tasks assigned by the manager

Mandatory Skills/Experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of networking, network security and firewalls
• Must have hands-on experience with Palo Alto, Checkpoint and Cisco firewalls.
• Must understand BGP, MPLS, OSPF, IS-IS routing protocols in a large environment
• Deep understanding on routing, load balancing and networking infrastructure

Desirable Skills/Experience
• Hands on experience in Cisco and Palo Alto firewall technology
• Additional experience in the field of load balancing.
• Good project management skills

About the Role:

Under the general direction of the Practice Director, the Security Engineer will be responsible for Pre- and Post-Sales support for the Palo Alto Security product line, including Cortex, GlobalProtect, IOT, Next-Generation Firewalls, SAAS Security Micro Segmentation, and more.

• Develop and deploy new capabilities, services, and telemetry sources to improve detection and response effectiveness.
• Continuously monitor, and rapidly respond to changes in adversarial behavior, patterns, tools, and methodologies.

As a Cyber Security Engineer at Octo, you shall have cyber security engineering experience building and securing applications at an Individual Contributor Level, understand all phases of application and service release lifecycle as part of the DevSecOps methodology. A successful candidate knows one or more modern programming languages, has a cyber security background on the cloud, understands computer science fundamentals either through education or experience, and has worked as part of an Agile team to deliver enterprise software solutions across an organization. Program Mission

• Five-plus (5+) years of experience in managing multiple AWS environments (VPCs, firewalls, IAM, GuardDuty, Cloud Trail, WAF such as Signal Sign On).

Desired Skills:
• Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders internal and external to the organization.

Job Description We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join our IT team. This is a very exciting time at MSK, as we move forward on our journey through the digital transformation process. As the analyst supporting the Information Security Office, you will be a key member of a team of dedicated information security professionals who are on the front lines in defending MSK from active cyber threats. You Will: Perform technical (evaluation of technology) and nontechnical (evaluation of people and operations) risk and vulnerability assessments. Perform penetration testing on a wide range of applications, devices, physical and logical digital technologies (e.g., wireless, SCADA, telecom) to identify and remediate vulnerabilities. Analyze organization’s cyber defense policies and configurations and evaluate compliance with regulations and organizational directives. Collaborate with engineers and developers to ensure secure design principles are met.
