Data Engineer – Supply Chain/DC Experience – Remote at HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS

Location: Portland

The Supply Chain Data Engineer will support Supply Chain, Network Strategy, and Distribution centers through creation and maintenance of short, middle, and long-range capacity models. This includes: The ability to build and leverage strong relationships to achieve goals is critical. The Supply Chain Data Engineer will work closely with Inventory Data Analytics, Engineering, Planning, and Distribution Operations to collaboratively achieve all objectives.

This position requires an individual with strong analytical skills and calls for a self-starter with genuine investigative talents, ability to find, analyze and present information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ability to ingest and transform data at scale, coming from varied sources
• Work closely with customers to produce accurate outputs, per schedule and ad-hoc
• Build what if scenarios
• Create outputs using BI tools that support optimization of the supply chain
• Grow modeling to be predictive and expansive across end-to-end supply chain
• Effectively present to all levels of leadership
• Proficiency in latest modeling software and tools
• Performs quantitative analysis and participates in the development of recommendations to optimize operational processes and performance. Runs statistical analysis, and conducts data modeling to identify key issues and recommend possible solutions
• Collaborates with business partners and DC leadership to understand business needs, and identifies business analytics and modeling requirements
• Additional duties as assigned by manager

Requirements:

Job Qualifications – Education and Experience:
• BS in Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Applied Math or Computer Science. MS preferred
• 5+ years in related Supply Chain role
• Comprehensive knowledge of Python, SQL, Tableau, Oracle, MS Office Suite
• Familiarity with Manhattan Associates WMS a plus
• Flexible and adaptable in learning new technologies/data languages
• Ability to conduct statistical analysis and apply analytical best practices and methodologies
• Highly self-motivated and directed

Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.

Expertise – Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Amazon MSK, Kinesis (KDS, KDF, KDA), Glue, EMR and more.

Solution – Deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer requirements, supporting consulting proposals, contributing to internal Area of Depth programs and Technical Field Community, authoring AWS Data Analytics best practice and creating packaged data service offerings.

Delivery – Engagements include on-site projects to architect, design and build customer s data streaming implementations and helping customers to migrate existing self-managed and on-premises solutions to AWS.

Ability to travel to client locations to deliver professional services, as needed.

Masters in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or Math
AWS Associate level certifications
Industry leadership in the fields of streaming and real-time processing
Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
Ability to earn customer trust and influence decision making at the strategic (CxO, VP) and the technical (Architect, Engineer) level
Experience driving discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
Experience developing innovative solutions to complex business and technology problems
Experience in queuing theory with message-broker software like RabbitMQ or similar
