The Data Analyst for Children’s Community Practices will:

Have a broad range of responsibilities related to the financial and data analytics pertaining to Children’s Community Practices and the Regional Hospitalist Program.

Additional Responsibilities:
Acquisition and On-Boarding

During the valuation period of acquisition, work with medical practices to collect and interpret data requested during the “On-Boarding” process.
Collaborate with workgroup members regarding requests/information required as part of the on-boarding process.
Professional Billing

Collaborate with Professional Billing and Coding and Compliance Departments to identify trends, recommend/coordinate corrective action and education opportunities.
Establish performance benchmarks.
Develop reporting Matrix regarding physician performance.
Develop dashboard reporting for presentation to Senior Leadership.
Lead and contribute to other projects and initiatives as requested by Director of Children’s Community Practices & Regional Hospitalist Programs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Minimum requirement of Bachelor’s degree.
Proven track-record in data analytics, preferably in a hospital or medical practice.
Strong computer systems skills with proficiency in Word, Excel (pivot tables), PowerPoint.
Familiarity with Medical Practice Management Systems (Epic, eClinicalWorks, or others) helpful but not required.
Will be required to have be trained in generating reports from Epic and eClincalWorks.
Ability to effectively initiate and manage multi-disciplined projects.
Current knowledge of reimbursement regulations and compliance issues of third-party payers helpful but not required.

Sr Data Analytics Specialist – Hiring Immediately at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center

Location: Columbus

Job Description
The Sr. Data Analytics Specialist will be primarily responsible for development and implementation of measurement and analytics strategies designed to ensure appropriate operational models; monitor and evaluate applicable metrics to compare and analyze data to support research, process improvement, and cost reduction; ensure communication with senior leadership and synthesize data into useful and insightful information; write and automate tools and scripts to increase efficiency and automate repeatable tasks; and perform analysis using SQL, SSIS, MS Access, Excel, and Visual Basic scripts. In addition, the Sr. Data Analytics Specialist will design and build data visualizations using diverse data sets of structured and unstructured data. This position will be instrumental in developing and translating analysis for research, data modeling and ad hoc decision support to other areas that are supported by the Cancer Program to fulfill the needs of the organization. This includes data analysis and reporting to enhance operational efficiency, data driven decisions and promote a higher level of data consumption as well as best practices to improve services and processes of strategic importance to the Medical Center and OSUCCC-James. Responsibilities include significant data analysis and data mining; applying and/or writing SQL queries for data modeling; development of dashboards and scorecards; small and large scale research project planning, data extraction and communication to multi-disciplinary teams at the OSUCCC-James.

Minimum Education Required
Bachelor’s Level Degree

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred in Statistics, Mathematics, Public Health, Health Administration, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Health Informatics, Information Systems or equivalent combination of education amp; healthcare related experience required. Experience using data visualization tools comparable to Tableau, Qlik, Microsoft Power BI, etc. required. Minimum of 2 years of project management/consulting experience required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare data analytics or statistics required. Healthcare related experience in database management, data collection and statistical analysis required. Able to statistically analyze and interpret raw data into actionable recommendations required.

JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for managing specific data and reporting to better assist management in maximizing resources in various departments or lines of business. Responsible for assisting in creating and producing forecasts, reports, ad hoc requests, dashboards, etc. in order to provide insights to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities. This is an entry level position that gains understanding of organization’s policies and processes and related data requirements.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in conducting data analysis in support of a variety of analytic solutions

Partnering with senior team members, capture, develop, and document data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements

Under general supervision integrate data from multiple sources to produce requested or required data elements

Assist in creating and producing forecasts, reports, ad hoc requests, dashboards, etc.

Interpret data, analyze results, and provide insights to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities

Develop reports and deliverables for management

Create and maintain report forms and formats, information dashboards, data generators, canned reports and other end-user information portals or resources

Ensure compliance with deliverable reporting requirements by performing quality data audits and analysis

May create specifications for reports based on business requests
