BAE Systems is looking for a Cloud Software Engineer who will be responsible for the operations of cloud based services to demonstrate the solutions to some of the United States’ most pressing problems.

In this role, you will:

Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services, from inception and design, deployment, operation and refinement.

Support system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and readiness reviews of services before they are Generally Available (GA)

Maintain services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health

Actively participate in and document incident response and root-cause analysis.

• Design & Develop framework for policy distribution/synchronization in a distributed environment.
• Extend K8s based controller architecture with CRDs and K8s Operator based add-on business logic.
• Work with distributed systems & applications that may span across multiple clouds such as AWS, Azure, GCP etc.
• Deploy microservices to Kubernetes using Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) systems
• Work with the team and product management to review and refine delivery requirements
• Write technical design documents and hold reviews
• Participate in all team scrum ceremonies
• Communicate with internal consumers of the team’s software and gather requirements and facilitate adoption of your solutions

The technical experience in your background which may help your success in this new role include:
• 10+ years of experience in Go or C+/C programming language is required.
• Development/hands-on experience with K8s Operators, Protobufs (Proto3), JSON/gRPC is required
• Development experience developing Micro-services architecture based software components on K8s is required.
• Strong?Knowledge of Typescript programming language is a big plus.
• Strong background in developing policies/control-plane for Application Security related products like Secure Web Gateways, API Gateways, Reverse Proxies, Forward Proxies is desired.
• An ideal candidate will have deep expertise in control plane/policy frameworks and distributed systems
• Must be able to work with product management teams to understand and converse on high-level technical details.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills and ability to work with remote teams
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
