WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

ACML is actively seeking Building Engineers located in Manhattan – New York City whose main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Perform daily rounds and record readings for all major equipment including but not limited to temperatures, pressures, electrical readings, etc., document and inspect for irregularities in readings;
• Respond to tenant requests and emergencies;
• Review and complete daily entries into engineer’s log;
• Complete preventive/demand maintenance tasks including but not limited to chemical treatment maintenance, filter changes, belt replacement, lubrications, cleaning of utility rooms, maintenance of fire prevention systems, testing and inspecting equipment for proper operation and input histories if required;
• Start-up/shutdown major building equipment as required or directed;
• Inspect, operate, maintain and repair mechanical/electrical systems including but not limited to boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, pumps, generators, uninterruptible power supplies, life safety system, etc., and ensure all equipment are operated in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable government codes and regulations;
• Monitor electrical power distribution system and building automation system and respond to alarms expeditiously and methodically;
• Be familiar with critical environment systems and equipment, mitigating risk by proactive inspections and reacting to abnormal incidents according to best practices;
• Complete any duties as requested by the client’s Standard Operating Procedures in order to minimize risk to critical floor operation;
• Use the Angus Anywhere maintenance management system to administer preventive and demand maintenance tasks;
• Receive and verify shipments and maintain inventory of spares, consumables and tools;
• Maintain a concise control document record of all procedures carried out, inventory of paper forms and control documents providing a concise record of procedures carried out;
• Oversee contractor activities;
• Assist other contractors/trades as required;
• Maintain a clean work environment.

HOURS OF WORK:
• Day and Afternoon Shifts, Monday – Friday, with some overtime opportunities on weekends or evenings.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?
• Our ideal candidate would be a Building Engineer with facilities maintenance and operations experience, excellent knowledge of OSHA, building codes and regulatory procedures (NYC);
• 5+ years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of critical facilities;
• You should have strong technical capabilities in building systems and equipment;
• You should have knowledge an understanding of HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical systems and BAS;
• You should have completed a related diploma/degree/certification in FM maintenance/engineering;
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written);
• Critical or Mission Critical Environments experience an asset;

RESPONSIBILITIES

Role Description

• Design, build, and/or deliver ML models and components that solve real-world business problems, while working in collaboration with the Product and Data Science teams.
• Inform your ML infrastructure decisions using your understanding of ML modeling techniques and issues, including choice of model, data, and feature selection, model training, hyperparameter tuning, dimensionality, bias/variance, and validation).
• Solve complex problems by writing and testing application code, developing and validating ML models, and automating tests and deployment.
• Collaborate as part of a cross-functional Agile team to create and enhance software that enables state-of-the-art big data and ML applications.
• Retrain, maintain, and monitor models in production.
• Leverage or build cloud-based architectures, technologies, and/or platforms to deliver optimized ML models at scale.
• Construct optimized data pipelines to feed ML models.
• Leverage continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices, including test automation and monitoring, to ensure successful deployment of ML models and application code.
• Ensure all code is well-managed to reduce vulnerabilities, models are well-governed from a risk perspective, and the ML follows best practices in Responsible and Explainable AI.
• Use programming languages like Python, Scala, or Java.

Project Manager I – Design-Build Engineering – Drainage at HNTB

What We’re Looking For

The time is right to join HNTB’s growing Design Build (DB) Organization! We are seeking candidates for a Drainage Project Manager I, with demonstrated experience on fast-paced transportation infrastructure projects, and with subject matter expertise in hydrology, hydraulics and stormwater management. This role is a key member of project leadership teams, responsible for proactively managing budget, schedule, technical requirements, and contractual obligations; provide high level technical tasks while managing and reviewing design elements such as specifications, calculations, reports, and plans. This individual will accomplish HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project through coordination with internal and external partners and cross discipline teams to address and solve design related issues or concerns.

Primary Focus Will Include:
• Hydrology and hydraulics design of surface water runoff collection and conveyance systems, stormwater management design, open channel modeling, scour analysis and mitigation measures.
• Leads project teams in the development of design modeling, calculations, plans, specs and quality control.
• Works with other disciplines to assure a fully integrated design.
• Works with project managers, other discipline leads and contracting partners to provide engineering to develop cost estimates and identify risks for job pursuits.
• Develops scopes, fees and workplans to execute projects on aggressive schedules.
• Assigns tasks and directs the design to provide quality deliverables and meet project schedules.
• Acts as a subject matter expert and provides senior review of designs, proposals, fee estimates, scopes of work for projects across the nation.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
• Master’s degree in Engineering
• 15+ years relevant experience in design of hydrology, hydraulics and stormwater management projects, including progression to task and project management.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification, and the ability to obtain PE in multiple states
• Excellent communications skills
• Familiarity with construction methods and the ability to optimize designs accordingly.
• Familiarity with permitting on the federal, state and local level.

What You’ll Need

Essential Responsibilities:
• Responsible for development of the project scope and fee quotation and assists in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB’s Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
• Serves as the primary client liaison and manages the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client’s satisfaction. Assists with client project scoping and contract negotiations.
• Performs technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects.
• Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB’s Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. Leads the development and the execution of the project management plan. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.
• Performs coordination with managers on project staffing, including, but not limited to; recruitment, development, retention, and succession of project staff; development of plan for project staff reporting; and support for performance and compensation reviews.
• Partners with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for strategic and mini-mega projects in accordance with HNTB’s Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). Works with the project team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials. Leads proposal development and interview presentations for strategic and mini-mega projects to the client as well as general presentations within the industry and community.
• May be responsible for the recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience
• 2 years task management or Deputy PM experience
