Specific focus of this role is to enable and grow the use of Salesforce within the ChristianaCare technical environment ensuring optimal use and integration of existing strategic systems and resources while also identifying capability gaps needed to meet future business and IT goals.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Salesforce Solutions Architect is responsible for the design and development of software, hardware, and cloud-based systems of a complex nature which require a high level of technical experience and problem-solving ability. The Salesforce Solutions Architect will focus on new systems as well as existing solutions. This role must ensure that new systems are built in a way that supports functional requirements while also assuring that service qualities (performance, scalability, extensibility, reliability, supportability, etc.) for now and for the future are achievable. The role will also focus on reviewing and improving existing solutions, making use of new technologies and methodologies. This role will be a consultant on projects, providing high level guidance and direction through the entire project lifecycle to ensure that the solutions implemented align with an overall strategic vision.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific focus on enabling and growing the use of Salesforce within the ChristianaCare technical environment ensuring optimal use and integration of existing strategic systems and resources while also identifying capability gaps needed to meet future business and IT goals.
Surveys market landscape for solution insights, direction, vendors, and methods
Performs hands-on coding, configuration, and implementations leveraging understanding of the intricacies of new and emerging technologies.
Outlines solution architecture descriptions across domains, functions, and industries, then monitors and governs their implementation.
Shares and communicates ideas clearly, both orally and in writing, to executive staff, business sponsors, and technical resources in clear concise language that is specific to each audience.
Provides technical leadership to project teams through full project lifecycle.
Acts as visionary and strategist for solution product area
Collaborates with other architects, applications, and technical teams within the organization
Assists the domain expert in creating the business case.
Assists analysts and designers to create design artifacts
Develops overall implementation solution plan, and serves as a lead as required, to implement the installation, customization, and integration efforts
Leads transition of new solution implementations to full operational status, ensuring all ChristianaCare ITIL standards and other processes are met
Ensures the effective support structures are in place to maintain the operating environment including the administrative aspects of the platform and related systems and integrations.
Is familiar with the various tools available in the market for creating design artifacts and provides recommendations on this to the project team.
Assists designers in applying the appropriate architectural and design patterns in their designs.
Provides expertise on technical analysis and total cost of ownership of both custom and purchased solutions.
Presents analysis and recommendations for custom vs. commercial solutions to senior leadership.
Collaborates with vendors on future roadmaps.
Maintains knowledge of new software releases and emerging technologies and capabilities.
Identifies opportunities for improvement in the organization and proposes technical solutions which address these opportunities.
Assists developers in creating prototypes.
Creates and demonstrates proof-of-concepts (POC) on newer technologies.
Advises customer on the use of appropriate technology.
Assists business stakeholders in setting the direction for their product lines.
Participates in business-facing projects and maintains knowledge of their progress to appropriately align with IT strategy and standards.
Identifies opportunities to reuse enterprise and shared technology services
Participates in the design and strategy of integrated application and infrastructure components.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 10 years’ information technology experience including but not limited to systems architecture, engineering, analysis, design and or programming.
Acquired 10 or more years of information technology and system analysis experience.
Acquired 7 or more years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting solutions with years of diversified business experience.
