C Software Developer
CGI is looking for multiple mid- to senior level embedded C Code Developers to join us in working on NASA’s Mars Sample Return Campaign, with the aim of collecting samples from the surface of Mars and returning them to earth for analysis.
Mars 2020 will collect and cache samples on the surface of Mars. SRL will later be launched to collect the cached samples and place them inside an Orbiting Sample (OS) container inside a Mars Ascent Vehicle (MAV) onboard SRL . The MAV will then launch and deploy the OS into orbit around Mars. ERO will rendezvous with the OS, allowing CCRS to capture and process the OS. ERO will then travel back to Earth where CCRS will release an Earth Entry System (EES), containing the OS, on a trajectory to Earth.

Your future duties and responsibilities
The candidate will assist the CCRS flight software lead in the design, development, and testing of the CCRS flight software. This work will involve all phases of the software development effort, including system design, defining hardware/software interactions, software design, coding, test planning, test design, development of test tools, reporting test results, documentation, and preparations for post-launch transition.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred), Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and/or equivalent work year experience.
3-5+ years of strong C development experience
Experience with cFE/cFS, real-time operating systems, and hardware interfaces is preferable but not required.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal, problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task, adapt to change, and work in a cooperative environment.
Demonstrated experience working successfully and proactively with a distributed team
US Citizenship required
Ability to obtain required National Agency Check (NAC) clearance
