Java/C++ Developer for Momentum Financials

Position Description
CGI is actively seeking a Developer to support maintenance and software development life cycle activities for federal clients. In this position you will work with multiple IT disciplines in shaping, executing and sustaining an enterprise-wide financial system. You will work on projects with the Maintenance and Operations team to support the client’s mission, priorities, and unique challenges. This is a long term position and work will primarily take place at CGI Federal’s headquarters in Fairfax, VA.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Translating business requirements into system design plans, incorporating system specifications, application architecture, data import/export functions, data conversion issues, reports, and other functions.
• Develop custom enhancements and modules using C++ and Java
• Support software upgrades and recurring software releases
• Mentor developers and other technical resources to enable them to
o Learn the ins and outs of the software and how our customers do business,
o Provide assistance in managing trade-offs and assessing user or system impact, and
o Promote adherence to design standards and processes to promote quality
• Review solutions and recommendations put forth by development team members to resolve issues.
• Work with developers, business analysts, business users and other technical operations staff to perform and coordinate the planning, testing, and implementation of database and application maintenance and upgrades as needed.
• Engage and communicate with senior level client stakeholders on project status, issues, and risks.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
– Bachelor’s degree
– Minimum 3 years experience with C++/Java development AND Momentum Financials software development
– Must be organized and have strong written and verbal communication skills
– Must be able to interact with a wide range of stakeholders (management, clients, and colleagues)
– Due to the nature of this government contract, US Citizenship is required

– Proficient knowledge with scripting languages such as Perl, Javascript, Python
– Selenium experience not required but nice to have

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,600 – $161,600.
